The Boston Red Sox have been hit by the injury bug over the past few days, but the most impactful injury for the entire team has to be the broken knuckle of catcher Ryan Hanigan on Friday night off a ball that hit Mark Teixeira (1B, NYY) in the wrist first. Obviously, Hanigan is out a good chunk of time -- six to eight weeks to be exact -- and his ability behind the plate makes him very important to the Red Sox pitching staff. The 34-year-old was not showing much at the plate with a .222 average with just one home run and five RBI, but now the Red Sox starters might be even more trouble than the second-worst starter's ERA in all of MLB.
